Microsoft may invest $10B in AI startup that created popular ChatGPT

Microsoft is planning to invest in a $10 billion round of capital for the inventor of the wildly popular ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence tool that creates text which appears to have been written by humans.

The company is OpenAI.

Reports indicate Microsoft sees the deal as a way to better compete with Google for search and with Amazon for cloud business.

“For several weeks, the tech world has been abuzz with chatter about ChatGPT. The tool is a natural language processing model, meaning it is designed to generate text that appears as though a human wrote it,” CNBC reported Tuesday.
